Windsor Hospitality Group Launches Windsor Management Services
Santa Monica, CA - After more than 20 years in hotel acquisition, development and management, Windsor Hospitality Group announces Windsor Management Services, their corporate division dedicated exclusively to third-party hotel management. WHG owns and /or manages hotel properties in some of the most competitive markets in the United States. Having received a number of third-party management contract requests and referrals over the last couple of years, WHG concluded the most effective way to meet that demand is to rise to the next level and launch this new corporate entity.
"Windsor Management Services will be fully operational on July 1, 2005," says WMS Managing Director Dawson Hubert. "Windsor has opted to take an aggressive stance on the growth of the company. We will continue to acquire hotel properties, but we have already developed our hotel management expertise and we decided the time had come to add to the company's growth on that path."
WMS has extensive experience working with many brands, and with the Hilton and Marriott families of brands in particular. "The most stringent criterion we have in deciding to work with a hotel is that we will manage only what we would consider owning. We have to do that in order to maintain the consistent quality in our property portfolio," Hubert explains.
"After that, the owners must have realistic goals upon which they and WMS agree. Hotels we would manage must have an owner who is concerned about profits, the employees and the community's needs as well as their own interests."
As Hubert says, WMS is willing to work primarily with properties owned by institutional investors and individual owners. "These properties could be anywhere in the country, since we already own properties across the nation and we well understand the subtleties that are necessary to succeed in different regions."
"We will listen to the ownership and customize our management to their objectives," Hubert continues. "Those could be anything from improving the property's market share or service levels to cultivating a stronger rapport with the community. Our consistent goal is to increase a hotel's asset value. There are lots of different ways companies structure hotel ownership and we are willing to work within all of those structures."
WMS's combination of centralized systems with an entrepreneurial management team at each property is one of the primary keys to their success and flexibility, says Mark Goeman, Windsor's Senior Vice President of Sales. "For example, WMS is one of very few management companies that have their entire portfolio on the same booking system," Goeman says.
This means that all of Windsor's property-level sales personnel are a source of referrals for all other properties in the portfolio. They operate from the same client database, which yields a large advantage.
"One of the main reasons an owner would want WMS to manage an asset is our systematic approach that we have implemented in all of our owned and managed properties," Goeman says. "With that platform in place, it's scalable. If we take over management of a hotel, we can put our payroll and booking system in place within a couple of days. We can put our sales and business planning systems in place in a couple of weeks."
"Nothing is rushed, but our Windsor protocol is very efficient." That's the idea.
