Sheraton Vistana Resort Features BelAir Networks Wireless Mesh In Orlando

Kanata, Ontario - BelAir Networks recently announced the deployment of a next generation wireless broadband mesh network throughout the Sheraton Vistana Resort in Orlando, Florida. The resort includes more than 1,400 villas, numerous pools and restaurants, tennis courts and several fitness centers developed by Starwood Vacation Ownership (SVO), a division of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. This broadband wireless network provides high speed wireless access for Internet-based applications available to guests in the resort rooms and villas.

BelAir worked with Sprint to install the network, and Sprint provides the management and maintenance of the network for Sheraton Vistana. Sprint is the preferred provider of voice and data services for the Sheraton Vistana, enabling communications between employees and delivering quality services for resort guests.

The resort has deployed 85 BelAir100C access nodes across the resort. The BelAir broadband wireless infrastructure equipment blends in seamlessly without disrupting the resort's natural beauty.

BelAir equipment provides lower CAPEX than competing solutions which require an indoor installation with many access nodes in each building. BelAir Networks outdoor-in approach offers a quicker installation and less impact on guests. Installation was completed in two weeks for the entire resort including all villas, pools amenities and public areas.

BelAir Networks is the leading provider of mobile broadband mesh network solutions with more than 300 deployments worldwide, including leading cities Boston, Minneapolis, the City of London and Toronto, as well as high-profile venues such as Lincoln Center in New York, and Dolphin Stadium in Miami. BelAir equipment blends seamlessly into its surroundings preserving the beauty of the resort.

"BelAir Networks continues to gain significant market share in the hospitality and venue industry," explained Jim Freeze, SVP, Marketing and Alliances, BelAir Networks. "Increasingly, hotels, stadiums and resorts are looking for the same high performance, reliability and QoS provided by traditional wired networks in their facilities. Broadband wireless access has gone from an amenity to a ‘must-have' service and BelAir Networks wireless mesh technology leads the field."

BelAir Networks offers a comprehensive product portfolio that supports Wi-Fi, WiMAX, 4.9 GHz Public Safety and cellular backhaul, and includes the flagship four-radio BelAir200 Wireless Multi-service Switch Router, the three-radio BelAir100T wireless mesh node, the dual-radio BelAir100 Multi-service Node, the single- or dual-radio BelAir100C Multi-service Node featuring point-to-multipoint backhaul, and the strand-mounted BelAir100S all seamlessly using the BelAirOS and managed by BelViewNMS. BelAir also offers the BelAir300 Converged Multi-service Wireless Node, combining cellular, Wi-Fi and wireless mesh on a converged platform.
