Radisson announces new hotel at LAX

Radisson Hotels & Resorts today announced the opening of a newly renovated 600-room hotel in a strategically key location at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The Radisson Hotel at Los Angeles Airport, located on West Century Boulevard at the airport entrance, is the closet hotel to LAX. The property has undergone a comprehensive $18 million renovation during which the hotel was closed.

"This is a prime gateway location near one of the nation's leading international airports and we are excited to bring the Radisson name to this property," said Jay Witzel, president of Radisson Hotels & Resorts. "This property is an important example of our strategy to grow Radisson in top locations in key markets," Witzel said.

"We are thrilled with the results that our team worked so hard to accomplish in renovating all aspects of the hotel," said owner Ash Israni. "This exciting new Radisson Hotel features a transformed porte cochere to match the new lighted entrance to LAX, a new lobby, pool and meeting facilities, as well as all new guest room furnishings and fixtures. It is an all new hotel with state of the art facilities. We are proud to be part of the Radisson family of fine hotels and are confident the guest experience at our new hotel will be superb," Israni said.

The hotel improvements start in the lobby, where attention has been paid to fine details, with two marble, spiral staircases; a 10-foot fountain and custom-designed furniture. New conveniences and upgrades continue throughout the building.

All of the guest rooms, including 12 luxury suites, offer guests a 25-inch television with on-demand movies, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, coffee maker and new beds. The newly renovated rooms are furnished with traditional Thomasville dark wood tables and chairs and feature bathrooms with granite countertops.

New air-handling equipment, offering guests individual temperature control to set their own thermostats, was also added to each room.

The hotel's guest rooms and convention facilities serve the business traveler and meeting attendees. The rooms and suites are equipped with two line phones, voice mail and data ports, and the meeting rooms offer video conferencing and high speed internet access. Other renovations include a complete upgrade of the main ballroom, the largest at Los Angeles International Airport at 14,000 square feet, which provides state-of-the-art audio visual equipment. The hotel also offers 24-hour complimentary airport transportation and car rentals on the premises.

Visitors at the Radisson Hotel at Los Angeles Airport can relax by using a number of the hotel's facilities, including a heated outdoor pool with sun deck and a fully-equipped fitness center.

The hotel offers a variety of food and beverage options, including a Starbucks coffee bar that offers fresh-baked pastries, croissants and daily desserts; the Pacific Room, a fine dining restaurant to be open in late September and the Concord Lobby Lounge. The hotel's main restaurant, the Century Restaurant, serves California cuisine and features a modern, upscale décor. The hotel also offers extended room service hours.

The Radisson Hotel at Los Angeles International Airport is close to Marina Del-Rey and Manhattan Beach, and offers convenient freeway access to downtown destinations, the Los Angeles Convention Center, Staples Center, J. Paul Getty Museum, Hollywood and Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. Universal Studios, the Rose Bowl, Dodger Stadium, the Los Angeles Coliseum, Forum, Disneyland and the new California Adventure Park are all 40 minutes or less from the hotel.

Lax Hospitality, L.P., a subsidiary of Pacifica Companies, owns the hotel. Ash Israni is the president and CEO of Pacifica Companies. He has over twenty years of experience in all facets of the real estate business. Much of his success stems from his talent for finding and acquiring
