National Lampoon And Guest-Tek Ink Deal To Provide Content To Hotel Rooms Nationwide
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--National Lampoon (AMEX:NLN), the most widely recognized brand in comedy, today announced an agreement with Guest-Tek (TSX:GTK), a leading worldwide provider of guestroom media and interactive services in hotels, to distribute National Lampoon feature films to hotels in the United States and Canada starting this month.
Guest-Tek will add National Lampoon features to its pay-per-view and VOD libraries via hotel cable service packages. Under the terms of the agreement, Guest-Tek will show titles from National Lampoon's current slate of films, which is an eclectic mix of films produced in-house and acquisitions from emerging filmmakers. The initial titles are National Lampoon's Homo Erectus and National Lampoon's Bagboy, both recent releases; the latter is the first in-house production by National Lampoon in 18 years.
"Guest-Tek is very pleased to offer National Lampoon's newly-released Hollywood movies," said Arnon Levy, CEO of Guest-Tek. "National Lampoon's hilarious comedies, available in high definition, will allow our hoteliers to offer their guests a wider selection of film choices."
"We are delighted to be working with Guest-Tek to expand our VOD delivery platforms in the hospitality industry," said Tom Daniels, President of Worldwide Distribution for National Lampoon. "This is yet another way for National Lampoon to deliver great comedy to our fans, and we are looking forward to expanding our domestic and international hotel VOD opportunities with Guest-Tek as they expand their global reach."
National Lampoon Releasing and National Lampoon Home Entertainment will release up to twelve titles per year, comprised of four original films and up to eight acquisitions. Distribution will be handled independently by National Lampoon, with some titles having broader distribution in partnership with major studios. Upcoming releases include National Lampoon Presents RoboDoc, National Lampoon's Ratko: The Dictator's Son, and National Lampoon's Dirty Movie.
