KoalaPlay Group's Interactive, Themed Indoor Water Attraction Debuts At Wisconsin's Newest Resort

Denver, CO - A massive ship tips over and douses people below in water. No, this is not a scene from the latest high seas adventure movie, but an actual live experience at Wisconsin's newest waterpark resort opening in June. KoalaPlay Group, the commercial design and development division of Koala Corp., custom designed a nautical themed water attraction for The Great Lakes Companies' Blue Harbor Resort and Conference center in Sheboygan, Wis.
The four-story, indoor structure features more than 12 levels of water adventure for the whole family to enjoy year-round. Internationally recognized theming experts from KoalaPlay Group created the nautical themed attraction to compliment Blue Harbor Resort's nautical decor. The nautical waterpark is one of the most extensively themed water attractions in the nation. The water play structure has a towering ship with a mast and sails, a lighthouse, cargo nets, hand wheels, flags and life preservers.
"Our indoor waterpark resorts are setting the trend in family travel by creating a year-round, 84 degree family destination," said Eric Lund, senior vice president of sales and marketing, Great Lakes Companies, Inc.
A series of transfer bridges, cargo nets, and web crawls guide participants around the attraction. Visitors can explore nearly 200 interactive water effects sprinkled throughout the play structure including hydro blasters, a water wheel, spouts, and hoses. Everyone from toddlers to seniors can take a leisurely ride down the lazy river and spray pool, pull levers to squirt water at each other, or stand beneath the grand mast and feel a flood of 1,000 gallons of water wash over them. For the more adventurous, the waterpark has two slides to ride down.
"KoalaPlay Group is very professional, creative and industry-leading," Lund said. "They have created one of the most original themed attractions at Blue Harbor that is colorful, enticing and innovative."
KoalaPlay Group's friendly soft foam sea creatures further bring the attraction to life. Visitors can play on a 21-foot long snake, eight-foot long dragon, crab, and log pieces.
"Our theming experts take a concept and turn it into a spectacular, alluring waterpark filled with engaging activities for the whole family," said Steve Wagner, vice president of sales and marketing, KoalaPlay Group. "Family-friendly destinations that offer themed waterplay attractions not only see an increase in occupancy rates, revenues and length of stays, but equally as important, they capture the spirit and imagination of their guests."
KoalaPlay Group has custom designed many indoor waterparks for The Great Lakes Companies family, including waterparks at the Great Wolf Lodges in the Wisconsin Dells, Kansas, Michigan and Ohio.
"Families form millions of lasting memories of the special adventures they had together when they visited Great Lakes' indoor waterparks," Lund said.
