Galileo International to deploy the GRSNetwork™ Leisure GUI

GRSNetwork™ (GRS), an international business-to-business-to-consumer (B2B2C) Internet infrastructure technology company for traditional and online travel agencies, travel suppliers and home-based agents, today announced a license agreement with Galileo International, Inc., a leading provider of electronic global distribution services (GDS) for the travel industry, for its TourExpert™ and Auto Service Fee™ application.

Under terms of the agreement with GRS, Galileo can deploy TourExpert to its travel agency base worldwide. TourExpert provides the user with a single, intuitive, interface for booking tours without the need to learn a different coding "language" for each tour supplier. The Windows®-based application interfaces with the Galileo LeisureShopper® platform and allows the user to book tours with any tour operators participating in LeisureShopper.

"This agreement represents our continued commitment to provide innovative business and leisure solutions for our valued partners," said Terry Lazar, GRS' Senior Vice President Business Development. "TourExpert will allow Galileo's subscribers to expand revenues in this lucrative market segment of leisure tour sales. Its' ease-of-use and format also affords the opportunity for less experienced travel agents to serve clients in real time with minimal training."

GRS also has granted Galileo a worldwide license agreement for the Auto Service Fee application (ASF). The ASF application will be modified and distributed initially to travel agencies on Galileo's Apollo® system. Galileo was the first GDS provider to develop and introduce the paperless service fee product in 1999. The ASF application further enhances the product's features by allowing users to selectively choose whether they want to collect only a service fee document or collect a service fee in conjunction with a passenger ticket, or an invoice and/or a back office interface record. Additionally, ASF was designed to allow users to set default values for repetitive information or tasks such as the service-fee amount, the need to print a passenger receipt, and standard remarks for the customer invoice or back-office system. This application will substantially improve the current procedure by reducing the number of entries and by simplifying some existing repetitive processes.

"The ASF application provides our travel agencies with a fully integrated set of Apollo system processes that are flexible and easy to use. One of the key benefits of ASF is the fact that the travel agent can now easily collect a service fee that is fully cross-referenced with a traveler's air ticket in the agency's back-office system," said Randy Shotwell, Galileo's director of Global Agency Products. "Subsequently, if a customer elects not to travel, the air ticket can be voided or refunded while the well-earned service fee remains intact for the agency."
