Elegant Hotels Group Appoints Marcello Pigozzo, CEO

Steadfast Development and Expansion Plans On Track

New York, NY -- Elegant Hotels (www.eleganthotels.com) one of the Caribbean's leading hotel groups has appointed Marcello Pigozzo as its new Chief Executive Officer and reinforces plans for significant enhancements at its current properties and steadfast development targeting numerous cities worldwide for Elegant Hotels expansion. A seasoned hotelier with a global strategy that combines operations, marketing and distribution expertise, Pigozzo's primary objective will be to guide the Elegant Hotels growth in the future, rapidly expanding the company's portfolio of 6 distinctive high-end resorts to up to 30 properties in the next five years.

A 30-year veteran of the global hotel industry, Pigozzo was most recently Managing Director of the European Resorts and the Mediterranean, Middle East and Africa division for the world's largest resort company, Hoteles Sol Melia. In this role he was responsible for driving resort and urban expansion throughout Europe, the Mediterranean, Middle East and Africa, and oversaw operations for all the Mediterranean properties. Prior to joining Hoteles Sol Melia, Pigozzo worked for Inter-Continental Hotels, the world's most global hotel company, for more than 20 years. His numerous positions with the company included Vice President of the group's Latin America, Mexico and Caribbean division and President of the Asia-Pacific division.

The Elegant Hotels Group is one of leading hotel groups in the Caribbean with five distinctive, individually styled hotels in Barbados (Colony Club, Tamarind Cove, Coconut Creek, Crystal Cove, and Turtle Beach Resort), each with idyllic beachfront positions, full range of water sports and fine dining, and one in Antigua (Trade Winds) with first class cuisine and spectacular panoramic views over Dickenson Bay. The companies in the Group are not related to Elegant Resorts, the tour operator based in the UK.

An Italian native, Pigozzo is a graduate in Hotel and Tourism Administration from the Glion International Centre in Switzerland and attended Columbia University's Management and Administration programme in New York. He has received numerous awards for his success in the tourism and hotel industries from such diverse sources as the City of Miami Beach and the Venezuelan and Italian Governments. He is married with two children and is a fluent in English, French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese.
