Hotwire ReachDSL is designed to provide a line-sharing compatible and customer installable service that offers coverage to 18,000 ft. According to the manufacturer, this technology has the ability to operate on any loop that supports standard telephone service regardless of the length of the loop.

The manufacturer states that they guarantee a reliable 256 Kbps service operation to a minimum of 18,000 ft, making the service well suited for large hospitality properties. The service provides line-sharing compatible DSL services at symmetric speeds ranging from 128 Kbps to 1 Mbps. Like all DSL technologies, this service runs faster on shorter, higher quality loops than it does on long loops. However, the manufacturer states that, unlike other DSL technologies, this product has demonstrated typical line-sharing service rates of 512 Kbps at 18,000 ft and 320 Kbps at 24,000 ft. in real-world field tests and customer installations. According to the manufacturer, this enables them to reach both business and residential service customers even under the most adverse loop conditions, geographic distances, and premise distribution inhibitors. In addition, this product is unaffected by bridged taps.
