AlphaNet selects EasyLink to provide upgraded in-room business services functionality
With the addition of EasyLink's Production Messaging Service, e-mails with attachments sent to an InnMail address are diverted by the AlphaNet Hospitality Systems server to EasyLink, where the attachments are opened and rendered into faxable form. The opened attachment is then sent back to the AlphaNet server, where it is stored in a temporary mailbox until it is received by the guest for printing on an in-room IBC-5000. The EasyLink service is able to render attachments created in more than 200 programs, including spreadsheets and graphics programs, in addition to word processing.
AlphaNet's IBC-5000, a specialized multifunction machine designed for hotels, provides a private, individualized telephone number for each guestroom. In addition to incoming and outgoing faxes, the IBC-5000 can be
connected to a laptop computer to print plain paper documents from word processing or spreadsheet programs, print guest folios at checkout to eliminate front-desk interaction, print downloads from the Internet and now
print e-mail and their attachments. The InnRoom Business Center-5000 is installed in more than 50% of the luxury hotels in the U.S.
