Roxy Partners With Telkonet To Enable Voice Controlled Hotel Rooms

Speech-Enabled Device to Control In-Room Lights, Blinds and Thermostat

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) - Roxy, the speech enabled device built just for hotels has announced a partnership with leading room automation solutions provider Telkonet. The partnership will enable guests to adjust room controls like lights, blinds and the thermostat using their voice.

This announcement comes shortly after Roxy's release of full phone functionality, which allows the smart speech-enabled device to replace the phone in hotel rooms in addition to the speaker, alarm clock, charging ports and the guest booklet.

"Roxy is all about getting guests what they want quickly and easily," states Cam Urban, CEO of Roxy. "Integrating with Telkonet’s room control systems allows Roxy to serve guests more effectively than ever before."

"Telkonet strives to create unique and valuable experiences through the innovative use of technology and automation," shared Jason Tienor, Telkonet's President & CEO. "Integrations with leading products and services like Roxy enable us to provide extensive value to property owners while enriching guest experiences and environments."

According to the Oracle Hospitality report, Hotel 2025, the typical hotel guest takes 12 to 15 minutes to fully figure out the array of remotes, controls and switches in a hotel room. With voice assistants like Roxy and room integrators like Telkonet, guests can simply ask for the blinds to be shut or for the thermostat to be set at 72 without having to find a remote or decipher an ancient thermostat interface. The report also states that 59% of hotel guests today want to be able to control room lighting and temperature with voice commands. By adopting these integrated solutions hotels increase guest satisfaction and makes it easier for guests to enjoy their stay.

Smart hotel room technology can also save money for hotels. For example, once a guest checks out through the in-room Roxy device, the device can automatically turn off the lights, shut the blinds and turn off the air conditioning or heater. This ensures that energy isn't being wasted on an unoccupied room, benefiting both the environment and the hotel's bottom line.

In-room technology presents a number of benefits for both hoteliers and guests. Partnerships between technology providers like Roxy and Telkonet pave the way for integrated hotels to take advantage of the opportunities presented by evolving hotel room technology.
